Fetch covers more than most other providers, including Nationwide
Fetch works exclusively in the pet insurance industry and protects over 450,000 pets (and counting!) with the most comprehensive coverage. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage based on pet’s age and includes coverage for hereditary conditions, which Nationwide doesn’t offer. Our plan also covers boarding fees, which Nationwide pet insurance doesn’t cover.

Fetch Wellness is add-on coverage.
Fetch covers what Nationwide pet insurance does not, including:
Sick-visit exam fees — saving you $50 - $250, on average, per appointment. You’ll have to pay extra for that coverage with Nationwide.
Up to $1,000 in behavioral therapy and medicine. Nationwide doesn’t do that.
Up to $1,000 in boarding fees should you require hospitalization for 4 days or more. Nationwide doesn’t offer you that.
Nationwide doesn’t cover every tooth — Fetch does
We cover injury and disease in every adult tooth, not just the canines. Plus, you get full coverage for periodontal disease (the most common disease in dogs and cats), oral tumors, trauma and more.
If you want that same level of protection with Nationwide, you’ll need to pay for a more expensive plan.
Nationwide’s waiting period before they cover knee injuries is twice as long as Fetch’s
Fetch covers cruciate ligament injuries after 6 months, but waives this waiting period in the first 30 days if a vet examines your pet’s knees and provides a clean bill of health.
With Nationwide’s pet insurance, your pet has to wait 12 months for this coverage — that’s twice as long.
Nationwide pet insurance doesn’t cover breed-specific conditions
With Fetch’s comprehensive plan, coverage for hereditary conditions linked to breed, like breathing problems in French bulldogs or hip dysplasia in German Shepherds, comes standard.
Nationwide only covers some breed-specific conditions and doesn’t cover congenital conditions — unless you pay extra.
What should you consider when you’re comparing pet insurance providers?
What does the coverage include?
Not all pet insurance plans are created equally. If a provider doesn’t cover a condition your pet has or treatment they need, you won’t be able to file a claim and get paid back for it — which means you could run into some serious costs. Take a close look at all limitations and exclusions for a given pet insurance plan, which can include factors like upper age limits and exclusions for breed-specific conditions.
How much can you customize the price?
Getting a plan that works for your pet and your budget is key. With Fetch, you can customize your plan, including choosing your deductible, max annual payout and reimbursement rate. Not all providers let you customize your price like this.
What matters the most to you?
Every plan is different, and every pet parent is, too. Some people only want protection in case of injury and illness — the unexpected stuff you can’t see coming — while others also want coverage for things like chronic conditions. Make sure that what you’re paying for is what is best for your pet’s needs and your budget.
