Greyson, the Pit Bull who runs a doggy daycare
You can't help but smile when she's around
Greyson, a gray Pit Bull, doesn't take pet sitting lightly — she literally, physically sits on all of the dogs that come into her parent's doggy daycare, The Groove Hound. And the pup's responsibilities don't stop there. Greyson's routine includes licking faces (dogs' and humans'), leading the pack to the outdoor play area and acting as the official meet-and-greeter.
"We sort of fell in love with her almost immediately," Gert, Greyson's parent, said. "She's definitely the happiest dog I've ever had in my entire life."
But Greyson's liveliness can get the best of her. When she's overly excited, Greyson sometimes picks up rocks in the backyard — one time, she swallowed one.
Gert knew Greyson needed to go to the vet after she refused chicken (her favorite treat) and got sick. Luckily, the vet was able to remove the rock by scoping her. Fetch covered almost $3,000 of Greyson's $4,000 vet bills, allowing Gert to focus on getting the energetic pup back to her normal routine.
This wasn't the first time Greyson had an unexpected vet visit. After getting microchipped, she experienced painful swelling along her back and fatigue. With multiple vet visits came costly X-rays, ultrasounds and imaging fees — but, Fetch was there to help.
In the past, Gert had to make major sacrifices, like selling her car and motorcycle, to pay for her other pet's unexpected vet bills. So, when she got Greyson, she didn't hesitate to get her covered right away.
"Any animal that we get, I immediately get them pet insurance," Gert said. "I mean, it's such a peace of mind knowing that if anything were to happen to them, you know, small or very large, that you have that backup there."
