Support Charleston Animal Society at Dogtoberfest
An afternoon filled with animal-themed fun
Nestled between Kiawah and Seabrook Islands (a little ways outside of Charleston, South Carolina) is Freshfields Village, a shopping center with large, green spaces. And on October 23, 2021, it’s hosting Dogtoberfest, an afternoon event where multiple rescue organizations, including Charleston Animal Society, will raise money and find homes for shelter pets.
Between 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET, guests can check out pet accessories at local vendors, enjoy live music, bid on silent auction items and enter their pets in a pet costume contest. When guests need to fuel up for more fun, there’ll be food from some of the sponsoring restaurants’ food trucks.
However, the most arguably exciting aspect of the event is the chance to meet your forever best friend. Because it’s an off-site adoption event, Charleston Animal Society’s volunteer and off-site adoption teams are bringing between six to nine shelter pets that are in need of homes and families. Pets are welcome at the event, too, if guests want to give their dog a little exercise. “Dogtoberfests are really fun. It’s an afternoon spent drinking wine and petting dogs,” Erin Nosker, manager of business partnerships at Charleston Animal Society, said.
Dogtoberfest is a great way to give back, enjoy an animal-filled afternoon and learn more about all of the impactful work animal rescue organizations continue to do. At the end of the night, the event’s proceeds will be divided up between all the rescue organizations.
